New Video Remote Control App for iOS and Android

Mobile apps are fun, convenient, efficient … We could go on and on, but you get the picture. We ran across one in a Twitter feed that piqued our interest, and we had to find out more about it: TheClik app syncs your Android or iOS mobile phone to your computer – any device with a browser – and allows you to play videos by remote control.

With a TV-out connection between your computer or laptop and your television, you can even project the screen images onto your TV.

Choose your video, click play, adjust the volume up or down and sit back and watch and enjoy.

Share your favourites with friends and family in multi-user mode or allow them to control the screen.

Download the free app, click the icon, align the test dot with the alignment image as you hold your mobile phone up to the computer screen, and you’re ready to rock and roll by remote control.

Navigate your computer browser to clikthis.com for syncing the devices; it only takes a moment.

You can both download the app from the App Store or the Android Market via a WiFi or any 2G/3G network connection. The only requirements the app sets is an iOS 4.0 or higher or an Android OS of 2.1 or higher.

Unfortunately, this free app is not compatible with any tablet or any other mobile phone OS right now, but the developers are working on versions for BlackBerry, Windows Phone Nokia, etc., and tablet devices.

Clikthis does not charge for its service: It’s a free app and a free service, though it cannot bypass any data plan debits from your service provider.

We don’t yet know if the clik app works in conjunction with other video or slide-show apps; we asked about coordination with other apps, and others have asked about specific programme compatibility, but it seems the developers are offline now. Sorry. If we get an answer, we’ll let you know.
